liner notes:

at 5:29:45 am on 16 july 1945 the first atomic bomb was detonated at the trinity site to the south-east of socorro. at the instant of this 19 kiloton explosion the world was thrown into the atomic age. this is trinity.

the tape was compiled in order to give a deep breath to socorro electronic and industrial music. most of it was made and recorded in macey studio on the campus of new mexico tech. other material consists of people who stayed in socorro for couple of years but then left for one reason or another. these people, while in socorro, were active in electronic music. their music is presented also. one dollar of the purchase price of this cassette will go to the studio in socorro

Midi Smith is eric sena. eric presently lives in ridgecrest california after completing a degree at new mexico tech. while in socorro he played keyboards and was briefly active with a studio project called 'room 101.'

shiFt is marc o. and a brother called eric. while marc was in socorro, he was a founding member of echolalia and played a few times on campus. he now lives in madison wisconsin recording on a four track.

tHE mOUNTING hOOKS make industrial instrumentals. john campell is the main member with robert m. adding in sounds and treatments.

Mr. Smith and the Rats consists of eric s., glen c., and alan p.. all of these guys are graduaed tech students who happened to get together and record something in eric's living room. glem now lives in madison wisconsin and alan plays strings and lives in el toro california.

HTB lives in socorro and makes electronic music with a foreign touch. recorded in socorro, these songs are part of a collection of music about rain. HTB is active with the electronic musician's club at tech.

echolalia has been around for awhile and has recorded three cassettes on Amm. the only electronic project that has played live from socorro, echolalia utilizes a black and white slide presentation to accent their music. besides playing dance music, echolalia also explores industrial ballads and some noise. presently echolalia consists of robert m., r. solomon, and the newly added j. campbell. in the past, echolalia has also consisted of marc o. (synthesizer) and bill g.'s guitar.

saints and sivas are a minimalistic menagerie of chants and equipment.

memento mori is echolalia's alter ego pushing the equipment in the studio at macey to different heights opposite to those obtained by others.

p.r.r. is intricately involved with the electronic musicians club and likes to frequent the studio in the wee hours of the morning.
