12th installment:
jun-aug 2002

More progress at the body shop... They've media blasted the bottom of the car, stripped the primer, worked a number of the dents out as best they could (and they did pretty good!), painted it with an etching primer (the green paint), did a little filler work as needed, and then primered with the grey paint. Good in grey! After a few more coats of grey, they will hit the underneath with rockerschnitz (or something like that...) and then begin the process of painting it cyber green, Whew! A lot of work and a lot more to go, but she's getting closer day after day. It hasn't helped that it has been hot as hell with rain enough to keep the humidity up (not good for painting).

I sent my petcock up to Canada to get rebuilt and they did a wonderful job. They also commented that it was the best example of an isetta petcock that they had ever seen. At least something on this darn car was in good shape! I'm close to finishing the steering wheel and working on the tank (sealing, etc.). Getting a number of the aluminum parts polished. Another parts order off to Werner. Money, money, money....   Hopefully next you will see paint and interior!
