Whew! Getting ready for that car show burned me out on the little car for awhile. However, it was a great experience. I rented a Ford F150 and Bruce and I loaded the car up the night before. The next day, we hauled butt up to Dallas and pulled the little frame off the truck for the show. Although she was nothing but bones, she got a lot of attention. Many Isetta owners had never seen an Isetta beneath the shell and closely inspected how it was put together. The most common comments were 'I need that piece' and 'Is that a go cart?' One fellow noted that every car show should have an example without the body.

I had hoped to have some chrome on the car for the show, but UPS lost my package from the plating shop for several days (scary....). Reguardless, the show was a hoot even though I was a nervous wreck (I only took two pictures of my car?).

The chrome finally showed up (with UPS sticking me with shipping charges twice) and it came out real nice. I decided to go with a place down in Houston that was reasonably priced (~ 500 dollars). I sent them some pieces that were a bit roughed up and they did a wonderful job of fixing them.

Although I've not worked with the car much over the past couple of months, I have been savoring the progress so far and showing her off to my friends and nieghbors. Enjoy the photos at the right and expect some real progress next time...
