whirlingpool on bandcamp

whirlingpool is transferring its digital distribution to bandcamp. expect to see links, full song streaming, download format choices, and the ability to pay via paypal soon.

 

2006 aug:
whirlingpool goes digital

we are in the midst of transfering our catalog to soundclick for digital distribution. we plan to digitally release recordings by quaquaversal (the debut, the live tracks, and the as-yet-to-be-released second album), memento mori, pillo, flyover:, and sideoats gramma. each track will be available for two quarters. check the "works" section for updates.
2005 jul:
death of dixon edge coulbourn

we are horribly sad to report that dixon, creator of lupe as well as a member of quaquaversal and flyover: and videographer for dj spaghetti, died in a swimming pool accident this month. he will be dearly missed by friends, family, and whirlingpool.

2005 mar:
re-release of memento mori

started in new mexico in 1988 before moving to Austin, Texas in 1991, memento mori grind their way through their electronics with thick beats and growled voices. This release is a release of the cassette 'underneath' and features five additional 'unreleased' tracks.

release by pillo...

the first release by pillo... is now available. consisting of zero bpm ambient tones, pillo... is the new sound project by robert mace and is intended to slow you down and dissolve into the background. tracks include 'downsong, 'longoverdue,' and 'arewethereyet?'

in other news, whirlingpool plans to re-release selected works by whirlingpool's predecessor label, aural mural music. this includes ERECTIONtheory, an austin prototechno group from the early 90s, memento mori, an industrial group from the late 80s and early 90s, and echolalia, a synth group from the late 80s. we have a web page about Amm's releases: Amm
